Herman Brood was a Dutch singer, artist, pianist and actor, born on November 5, 1946 in Zwolle, Netherlands, and died on July 11, 2001 in Amsterdam. He was a remarkable and colorful personality in the Dutch entertainment industry and culture.
Brood started his musical career as the frontman of the band Cuby + Blizzards in the 1960s. However, he achieved wider fame as a solo artist in the 1970s and 1980s. His music ranged from rock 'n' roll to blues and pop. Some of his best-known songs are "Saturday Night" and "Never Be Clever."
In addition to his musical activities, Herman Brood was also a talented visual artist. His paintings were often colorful and expressive, and his works of art were renowned both nationally and internationally.
Herman Brood struggled with personal problems throughout his life, including drug addiction. He committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel at the age of 54 in 2001. Herman Brood is still remembered as one of the most iconic figures in the Dutch music and art scene.
